The Tyco 516.052.041 MD611Ex is a conventional Intrinsically Safe Fixed Heat Detector. The Tyco MD611Ex is used in areas where environmental conditions rule out the use of smoke detectors. The Tyco MD611Ex provides an acceptable, less sensitive alternative. For general use, and particularly where the ambient temperature may be low, a ‘Rate-of-Rise’ heat sensor is to be preferred.
The MD611Ex uses two networked thermistors in a bridge configuration to provide a fast response, that depends both on absolute temperature and rate of rise of temperature.
The rate of rise/fixed temperature heat detectors can be used in areas where smoke sensors are unsuitable due to environmental conditions (smoke, dust etc.). Such areas include kitchens, locker rooms, canteens, garages, loading bays etc.
